Toptracer questions, answered
What is a Toptracer driving range?
Toptracer uses cameras to trace every shot's flight, showing carry distance, ball speed, launch angle, and curve on a screen in your bay — the same technology TV broadcasts use to trace pro drives. Ranges install it bay-by-bay, so you get real data with every bucket instead of guessing where your ball landed.
Does Toptracer cost extra at the range?
It varies. Some ranges build Toptracer into slightly higher bucket or bay prices; others charge by the hour for a Toptracer bay while regular stalls stay cheaper. Where we have verified prices, they're on the range's listing — and bay-hour pricing is labeled as such.
What's the difference between Toptracer and Topgolf?
Topgolf is a chain of entertainment venues with its own ball-tracking games. Toptracer (owned by Topgolf's parent company) is the technology itself, installed at ordinary public driving ranges. A Toptracer range gives you the games and shot data at your local range's prices, usually with regular range balls and your own clubs.
Is Toptracer good for practice or just games?
Both. Beyond the closest-to-the-pin games, Toptracer's practice mode shows carry numbers for every club — the single most useful thing most golfers don't know about their own game. Dialing in real gapping data at a Toptracer range is a genuine substitute for a launch-monitor fitting session.
